Northwest of Cuba, NM is a community called La Jara.  Camino Olivas is the road above La Jara that accesses La Jara Canyon.  La Jara Canyon has a somewhat hard to follow horse trail that traverses up the entire canyon and ties in with Forest Service Trails on top.  At about 9400’ a green open meadow serves as a hunting camp.  This is a good place to turn south off-trail and climb over the mountain to La Madera Creek.  Returning to your vehicle down La Madera Canyon will walk you right by this waterfall.

 

Santa Fe National Forest has a nice topo map called: San Pedro Parks wilderness.  This is an okay map but the USGS 7.5 minute topo map for this area are better.  Sorry I have provided no map for this page.
